Dinosaur Bar-B-Que

Dinosaur_bbq

A few weeks ago, while up in Harlem we realized Dinosaur Bar-B-Que was only a few blocks away.  So our stomachs made our way for some Que.  Normally, there is a 2 hour wait but we were seated immediately.  We got some ribs, corn bread, beans and slaw.  Everything looked appetizing but it was served cold.  I suspect our waitress took a smoke break and forgot about food.  Food and service was absolutely disappointing.

The Schnitzel

Schnitzel

When I heard The Schnitzel & Things truck was making their way to Wall Street.  I was ready for some schnitzel.  I ordered a pork schnitzel platter with braised sauerkraut and a roasted beets & feta salad.  Plus an apple spritzer, of course. The Apple Spritzer was served luke warm.  A big no-no. They might want to invest in an cooler.  The schnitzel was okay and did manage to break a plastic fork in the process.  It would have been nice to have a slightly larger portion of sauerkraut.  At the moment, I'm a bit disappointed in my experience with the Schnitzel & Things truck.  I might give them another go, but next time I'm getting the sandwich.

Banh Mi Street Cart

Banh_mi

After being tipped off that there was Banh Mi Street cart in the Financial District.  I went in search for this cart.  I stumbled upon it on the corner of Pearl and Hanover street.  It was $6 for a the Banh Mi.

I was pretty excited about this new discovery and couldn't wait to try it out.  The sandwich was okay.  I felt like it was missing the pate.  And I found the sandwich an overall disappointment.

If I want a Banh Mi sandwich, I will have to head over to Paris Sandwich in Chinatown.

La Cense Beef Burger Truck

Lacense

After reading the Chowhound review of the La Cense Burger Truck, I was a bit leery about checking them out. But I was quickly convinced after catching whiff of grass fed Montana beef. After about a 15 minute wait, I had in my possesion a 6oz burger with cheese and grilled onions.

It's a nice size burger. But you can only get it cooked one way. And that's medium well. Frankly, a grass fed burger should only be cooked one way. And that's medium rare. The burger cost $7.50 which is pretty average for NYC prices.

I would rate this burger a B+
